Now THIS is vacation.  I took a taxi to Huanchaco, a little beach town outside of Trujillo.  There were plenty of locals and foreigners alike here, soaking up the sun and feasting on fresh seafood.  I checked into a beach-front hostel full of backpackers, and immediately made some friends.  There are ups and downs to traveling alone, but I generally found myself a lot happier when I had some people to talk to and explore with than when I was completely on my own.
