Miraflores is a modern and trendy neighborhood of Lima.  The place is packed with upscale restaurants, giant malls, and tourist haunts.  I was anxious to see the country, so I bought a bus ticket for the next day. My plan was to go north along the coast, perhaps all the way into Ecuador, and then fly back to Lima to meet with my friends for New Years.
