On the way, we passed an interesting artifact.  This symbol (a candelabra? a cactus?) was carved into the bedstone of the dune wall.  Similar to the famous Nasca Lines, but by a different tribe, and in a location that can be seen without an airplane.  Because it was carved into the stone, the wind and sand erases any footprints that wandering visitors may leave.
