We reached the Floating Islands after about an hour's ride.  These man-made 'islands' are built out of blocks of bundled-up reeds.  The native people originally lived out on the lake to avoid being killed by the various warlike civilizations on shore.  Now they live on the lake to be a tourist attraction.
